6.7 miles. I slept in because I only had a few miles to do to get to Hikertown, the weird hiker haven in the middle of the desert before we embarked on the aqueduct stretch. I had very little to hike but still felt so tired and shitty. I hiked a few miles of unnoteworthy rolling hills and caught up with Glowstick and Payless to make it to Hikertown. The place was even cooler and stranger than I expected. It was a small rectangle filled with painted cheesy rooms like Circus Theater, Post Office, and Saloon. Everyone was hanging out around the central table and trying to relax before the big night. I finally got my new sunglasses and had to ship my box of shoes ahead to Kennedy Meadows because mine were still usable. This prompted me to end up going to both resupply stores in an attempt to send it forward and soak up hours of precious and needed relaxation. We got a few free beers dropped off from a hikers girlfriend and I played Farkle, a dice game, with Madeline, Minivan, AKA, and Shaka. Once 5 o clock rolled around, everyone else was starting to show up and try to convince me to stay another day and head out with them the next night. Madeline and I eventually caved in and decided to stay, but after another game of Farkle with Breezy and Sticky I was wavering about whether or not I should head out. They had downloaded an app called Universe Splitter that they used to make decisions for them about camping spots and leaving siestas and helped me make the final decision to stay the night. I hung out with Josh and the others and enjoyed a night of chilling. Around 10:30, I went to go sleep in the hammock which ended up being a terrible decision. It took me an hour to find a comfortable position that I couldn’t move from without falling off only to need to pee the second I settled in. I ditched the shitty hammock and howling wind and fell asleep well around 2 am on the couch that was somehow still open.
